Kids' shoes
Children's feet grow quickly, so measure every few months. Allow about 1 cm (half an inch) of growing room in front of the longest toe.
| UK | EU | US | Foot length (cm)(in) | Typical age |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | 28 | 10.5 | 17.16.7 | 4–5 years |
| 11 | 29 | 11.5 | 17.87 | 5–6 years |
| 12 | 30.5 | 12.5 | 18.67.3 | 6 years |
| 13 | 32 | 13.5 | 19.57.7 | 7 years |
| 1 | 33 | 1.5 | 20.38 | 7–8 years |
| 2 | 34 | 2.5 | 21.28.3 | 8–9 years |
How to measure
- Stand your child on paper with their heel against a wall and their weight on both feet.
- Mark the tip of the longest toe and measure from the wall to the mark.
- Measure both feet and use the longer one, then add growing room.
Fit tips
- School shoes should fit snugly at the heel with room to wiggle toes.
- If they are between sizes, go up a size.
